This saree is a revival of one that is part of our private collection and is currently display at our museum. When one of our weavers agreed to do it, it took a long time to sit together and get everything in place. We call the saree the Navrang as it has more than nine colours in the body. It is a complicated saree to weave as we had to be very careful while selecting the colours or we would go very wrong with one shade and the saree would end up looking garrish. Though the saree looks simple, it is difficult to weave as the body has zari muthu checks, a korvai border and the pallu has three types of temple motifs with 2 colours in some portions. The saree is woven in pure silk with pure zari. It does not come with a blouse piece.
