A lot of you know that during the festival of India or Vishwakarma Exhibition some of our sarees were recreated. Out of those, one was the Simhasana or what Martand Singh named the Bangalore Nanjappa Saree. What many don’t know is that there were three such pieces in our collection. This year we are recreating this design by popular demand. If you study the pallu, you will notice the motifs and designs are very similar to those found in sarongs and textiles from Cambodia and Vietnam. The saree is woven in pure silk and comes with a blouse piece.
